The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s Third Annual American Medicine Chest Challenge

This month, The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ), an alliance partner of The Partnership at, hosted its third annual American Medicine Chest Challenge (AMCC) in the state of New Jersey. The AMCC is a public health initiative that asks families to take a five-step challenge, which includes taking inventory of medicine in the home; securing the medicine chest; disposing of unused, unwanted and expired medicine; taking medicine exactly as prescribed; and talking to children about the dangers of prescription drug abuse.

The November 10th event created a way for adults across the state to anonymously, legally and safely dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medicine. This year’s AMCC yielded the safe collection and disposal of more than one ton of medicine in New Jersey.

We would like to thank our New Jersey alliance partner and everyone who participated in this event for helping to raise awareness of and curb the problem of medicine abuse.
