Alan Hoffman Elected to Board of Directors of The Partnership at Drugfree.org
The Partnership at Drugfree.org, the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to finding evidence-based solutions to adolescent substance use disorders, announced the election of Alan Hoffman to its Board of Directors.
Alan Hoffman is Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs for PepsiCo, managing public policy and government affairs activities worldwide. Recently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden and Deputy Assistant to the President, Hoffman was responsible for long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the vice president’s office. Prior to that, Hoffman served as the Chief of Staff to Senator Biden from1998 to 2003, and again from 2006 to 2008. He was also senior presidential campaign advisor and chief operating officer to Vice President Biden during the transition following the 2008 presidential election.

Hoffman previously served as senior vice president for external relations for the University of California (UC), directing strategy, communications, marketing, advocacy, government relations, fundraising and community relations for the 10 campuses, five medical centers and three national labs that comprise the UC system. He spent time as a federal prosecutor; partner at Timmons & Company, a Washington, D.C. government relations and consulting firm; and as vice president for external relations at the RAND Corporation. He worked on health policy issues in the Clinton White House earlier in his career.

Hoffman holds a J.D. and a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California and a B.A. degree from Lafayette College.
