Grants for Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care

Public and private nonprofit organizations may apply for funding that supports the development and use of local recovery-oriented systems of care which help fill gaps between addiction treatment need and capacity.

The Targeted Capacity Expansion in Targeted Areas of Need-Local Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (TCE-Local ROSC) grants support “person-centered and self-directed approaches for substance abuse (including alcohol and drug) treatment and recovery services in communities with serious drug problems,” according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

“The purpose of this program is to expand the community's ability to provide integrated and comprehensive community-based responses to a targeted, well-documented substance abuse treatment capacity problem and/or improve the quality and intensity of services,” the grant announcement noted. “The focus is on providing support for local organizations, including grassroots, faith- and community-based treatment programs, and recovery community organizations, that can link services critical to the population of focus and deliver them in a manner consistent with the principles of recovery-oriented systems of care.”

Approximately $5.1 million is available for 13 awards. Award ceiling is $400,000.

Application deadline is April 28. Nonprofits, schools and government agencies are among the institutions eligible to apply.
