The Medicine Abuse Project Presents at the 2013 ADA Conference on Dentist Health and Well-Being

/By

Last week, The Medicine Abuse Project keynoted the American Dental Association’s (ADA) 2013 Conference on Dentist Health and Well-Being in Chicago, IL.

The session, “Insights From an Epidemic: The Medicine Abuse Project”, illustrated the nature and extent of medicine misuse and abuse within the general population, as well as identified proactive steps health care professionals can take to prevent or identify misuse among patient populations. Our President and CEO, Steve Pasierb, delivered the keynote, highlighting the positive role everyone can play in helping to end medicine abuse.

As a result of the keynote address, dentists will be sharing information from The Medicine Abuse Project with their staff and patients as well as reaching out to their communities utilizing resources from member organizations listed at drugfree.org/MedicineAbuseProject.  Several attendees also stepped forward to volunteer on behalf of The Project by sharing their stories of personal challenges with medicine abuse and their long-term recovery.

The ADA is a National Partner of The Medicine Abuse Project. Visit The Project online to find out how you can help #endmedicineabuse.
