Our own Hilary Baris, Digital Media and Marketing Director, presented at the South by Southwest Music Conference and Interactive Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas this week. She joined a panel of top digital marketers on how to effectively reach teens – a group that has become increasingly more active in politics, charity and awareness programming – through digital channels and social games.
Hilary, who has been with us for five years and has more than 15 total years of experience in digital media sales, advertising and marketing, spoke from her extensive background in digital media about how to effectively involve teens in social gaming and shared her own experiences in creating meaningful digital platforms for teens. Hilary led the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids’s effort to educate teens about substance abuse prevention through WeeWorld, an interactive social gaming tool that encouraged kids to engage on the issue.
“The South by Southwest Festival was incredibly fun, educational and inspirational,” said Hilary of her participation. “Our panel received great feedback from attendees, and it was extremely rewarding to see some of my statements quoted and talked about on Twitter during and after the event. I am proud of the good work we do here and am thrilled to have a platform through which to share and promote our brand and critical issue.”
SXSW is one of the largest annual conferences in the country, with the Film and Interactive events together attracting approximately 32,000 registrants to Austin every March. We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Hilary on her participation in this prestigious and respected event!
