Podcast: The Critical Role of Parents (and Family) in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Drug and Alcohol Problems

Parents and family play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of their teen’s drug and alcohol problems. January’s podcast, presented by CIGNA and the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, shared how successful teen substance abuse treatment and recovery involve the whole family.

Guests included Gayle Dakof, PhD, Research Associate Professor of Public Health, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, and Lea Minalga, mother and Parent Advisory Board Member of the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids. Lea is also president of Illinois-based Hearts of Hope, a non-profit striving to restore hope to all affected by drug addiction through education, advocacy and support.
