Welcome to Monica Liriano, who joins us as our new Assistant Director of Research. Using her impressive background, Monica will work on our consumer research survey, the Partnership Attitude Tracking Study (PATS) – our unique contribution to the field of substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment. PATS is the longest-running national research study of parent/teen behaviors and attitudes about drug and alcohol use in the country.
Monica will also help reinforce consumer attitude and behavior messages that support our public service campaigns and outreach. She will work closely with Sean Clarkin, Director of Strategy and Programs and Fred Muench, Associate Director of Research.
Monica’s extensive research skills include questionnaire development, analysis and report writing. She comes to us from Dow Jones where she worked with largely recognized media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and Marketwatch.com. Monica focused on new product development and brand tracking, attitude and usage, market forecasting, customer satisfaction and concept and message testing studies.
Prior to Dow Jones, Monica worked with Hall & Partners, a market research supplier. She also served as Project Director at SIS International Research, where she undertook a number of interesting studies including taste tests, customer satisfaction, brand/perceptual mapping and concept testing.

Monica has a BA in Latin American Studies and Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University.
