Award Ceremony Honors Community Members in Gallatin County, Montana
The second annual Swimming Upstream Awards, held in April by Gallatin County Demand Treatment!, honored community members who had made strides in alcohol prevention and intervention, the Bozeman Chronicle reported on April 20.
The event was sponsored by the Gallatin County DUI Task Force in conjunction with the Gallatin Responsive Interventions Partnership (GRIP) and Communities that Care, two divisions of Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County, a Demand Treatment! Lead Agency.
Recipients were recognized for their work in public policy, education, healthcare, criminal justice, public safety, grassroots community health, and the faith community.
“The power of the experience was in realizing how important it is to honor community members who are Swimming Upstream in changing Montana's relationship with alcohol use and abuse,” stated the GRIP in its Ezine.
