Bath Salts Banned in New York

/By

New York is the latest state to ban bath salts. New York State’s Health Commissioner has banned the sale of bath salts, effective immediately, the Associated Press reports.

Bath salts are crystallized chemicals that users snort, swallow or smoke. The two powerful stimulants in these synthetic drugs mimic cocaine, LSD and methamphetamine. In the first three months of 2011, poison control centers received more than 1,400 calls for bath salts, compared with 301 in all of 2010.

Bath salts are leading to the hospitalization of hundreds of people nationwide, the AP notes. They are often sold in convenience stores. Symptoms include paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, suicidal behavior and violence. Bath salts can also cause chest pains and increased blood pressure.

Bath Salts: Yes the true use for this product is relaxation in the hot bath tub, and these new products which are labelled for not human consumption “This is why China is number one in education” Cause americans never use common sense. I do not blame the bath salts for the “Choices Idiot Americans Make” NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION– Hello doesnt it say not to consume? Sounds Like it does to me.. But then again people are not forced to walk into a store and buy it regarless what any retail store says it does or how to use it. The product clearly says DO NOT CONSUME! No wonder why USA is called the land of the retards, cause 96% of the americans today are looking for the easy way out of living and working, instead they choose poor choices and want to rely on the government funds to bail them out.. Cause they are the jackass’s that decided to CONSUME a product that clearly said DO NOT CONSUME! PATHEDIC….. and this big thing about Herbal Incenses, for long time it was the war on DRUGS, whats next the war on HERBAL INCENSES! HAHAHAH Doesnt this country have Better things to do than waste our hard earned tax dollars on something useful? Like making more jobs for everyone! Lowering our taxes creating useful things, instead of wasting our monies on Dumbass Americans that choose to CONSUME something that clearly states DO NOT CONSUME! I can see it now, in the next 10 years they will ban ORGANIC Foods grown in your own yards, it will say its banned cause it makes you healthy!

The term bath salts should be in quotes. People are getting confused between non-toxic, pleasant smelling bath salts that have been sold without harm for many years, and the new “bath salts” which are sold as such to evade the law but actually include synthetics that are similar in effect to methamphetamine and other “uppers” and are not intended to go anywhere near bathwater, but to be inhaled. It is these that are sending people to the emergency departments at an alarmingly increasing rate.
