12. Warning Signs.

How can you tell if your teen is using steroids? Look for the following warning signs:

Boys:
  • Baldness
  • Development of breasts

    Girls:
  • Growth of facial hair
  • Deepened voice
  • Breast reduction

    Both:
  • Unusually rapid weight and strength gains.
  • The development of striae (pinkish or purplish lines on the chest and abdomen that occurs from rapid growth)
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin)
  • Acne
  • Mood swings
  • Trembling
  • Depression
