NEW YORK, NY, June 12, 2008 – The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is proud to announce that as part of their advertising initiative with Comcast, the country’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications, their new Video On Demand (VOD) series on how parents can help their teens understand the risks of drugs and alcohol premieres today.
Through its video-on-demand service, Comcast is committed to helping the Partnership reach parents and teens with critical messages aimed at educating them about the dangers associated with using and abusing drugs and alcohol is now available at the touch of a button.
Comcast customers can directly view the newly created VOD Series titled “Guide to Your Teen” through choosing “Top Picks” and then “Guide to Your Teen.” The series is running June 12- June 26.
Segments and Viewing Times Include: “The Science of the Teen Brain”: 5 min 28 sec; “Risk Taking”: 4 min 34 sec; “Understanding the Teen World of Drugs and Alcohol”: 5 min 26; “Communicating With the Teen Brain": 5 min 10 sec
“With busy hectic family and work schedules, parents can select the time to view the free two week series at a convenient time that works best for them,” said Jack Irving, media director for the Partnership. “Our research shows us that parent involvement is the key to drug prevention – Kids who learn a lot about the risks of drugs at home are up to 50 percent less likely to use. We are confident that this theme will resonate with the important community of Comcast parents.”
Comcast’s VOD lineup offers more than 10,000 movie, television series and special programming selections each month, with Comcast customers selecting On Demand more than 100 times per second with over 300 million views per month.
