Drug abuse is common all throughout Oklahoma. I started out with cigarettes (yes they are a drug too) at age 11. Then for behavior management, the doctor prescribed Xanax for me. I took them and loved the feeling so I started taking other pills: Librium, Valium, etc. Then during the summer before 7th grade I was introduced to weed. Next I tried painkillers: Morphine, Mepridine, Lor-tab, Vicoden, Percocet. After a month of constant use, I was hooked. A 14-year-old addict. Doing drugs, partying, breaking the law -- my parents kicked me out and sent me away for seven months to rehab.
I came back from the country to the big Oklahoma City and everything had changed. All my friends were either locked up or doing crank (methamphetamine). So I tried it, but I didn’t like it. Then came the big time takeover: OxyContin -- one dose can make your mind flip. So even after rehab, I was smoking weed more heavily and taking more pills than ever. I was snorting 100 MG a day or more and then the price skyrocketed. I haven’t done an oxy for one month and the withdrawal has taken effect. So my life is pretty messed up.
If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t have even touched a cigarette.
