Kids With DepressionPrintEmail

Not long ago we moved up to our new house, and my youngest daughter was having a really hard time finding friends and she became very depressed. The doctor put her on medication but it made her put on a lot of weight. Kids at school made fun of her because of her weight gain. She was so depressed, I felt like I was losing my little girl, I didn’t know what to do, and she wouldn’t talk to me about anything.

Things got worse and she decided that it would be better if she killed herself. She tried cutting herself, taking pills -- anything that would make her go. I had no idea that all these things were going on and I felt left out of her life. I’m just letting all mothers know that if your son or daughter has depression you should make sure that they aren’t going to harm themselves with drugs or through other means. A good friend is important for them to have. I’m so glad that my daughter finally found her one. Her friend Sara has helped in so many ways.
