I Just Turned 20, Thank GodPrintEmail

I had been smoking pot since I was a freshman in high school. At the time I didn't think I had a problem. I moved in with my sister my junior year in high school. She was into harder drugs and I wanted to be just like her. I started out smoking pot and doing cocaine, which turned into smoking crack, taking acid and pills. I barely made it through my junior year of high school.

The night of my graduation I had been partying and doing cocaine. My sister had left me with an 8 ball (amount of cocaine). I snorted all of it in less than 45 minutes. I passed out. I had overdosed. My heart had stopped beating by the time my sister got home. She called 911. Luckily they were able to save me.

I have a lot of side affects from all the drugs I used. I can no longer play the guitar -- which I used to spend all my free time doing -- because I can't keep my hands still. I have memory loss and I had surgery on my nose because the cocaine had rotted a hole in it. Drugs are not the solution to all of your problems, they don't make you forget the pain of life, they don't help you make friends or be in the popular group, and they just kill you physically and mentally.
