The movie “Ray” (2004) portrays the successes and struggles of the legendary Ray Charles (played by Jamie Foxx). Although he had a brilliant musical career, Charles struggled with a heroin addiction that often put his music, his life and his family in jeopardy. The following clip shows a brief intervention conducted by his wife, Della Bea (Kerry Washington), in which she asks him, “Is that poison worth losing everything?” Della desperately wants Ray to understand that music, his one true love, could be lost to him forever if he continues to use heroin.
